💼 Overview (Role Purpose)
We are looking for an experienced Staff DevOps Engineer / Team Lead that can lead the DevOps team in supporting our development teams. You’ll thrive in this role if you love both leading other engineers to deliver valuable systems and getting hands on with design and implementation. You will be responsible for maintaining our Linux-based build and test infrastructure, which runs thousands of tests every hour supporting our development teams. You will drive the design, development, and migration to a modern CICD pipeline with automated quality gates, working closely with development, testing, and IT teams to understand requirements and develop efficient solutions.
🎯 Responsibilities
Lead DevOps team, mentoring and growing senior DevOps engineers, as together you accomplish the following:
Collaborate with development, quality engineering, and IT teams to design, implement, and maintain a scalable, secure, and high-availability Linux-based build and test infrastructure
Work with development and testing teams to maintain and improve the test orchestration and scheduling tool chain
Proactively optimize system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise to ensure smooth operations
Handle system updates, upgrades, and patch management to keep the environment secure and up to date
Set up monitoring tools to track system performance, application metrics, and infrastructure health
Utilize configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt) to automate provisioning and installations
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
✅ Required Qualifications
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. This role needs to align priorities with development teams and IT department, and this requires active stakeholder engagement.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
10+ years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer
2+ years managing other engineers and high impact projects
Strong proficiency in Linux system administration and shell scripting
Strong proficiency in Python development
Proficient in configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt)
Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Nomad)
Experience with monitoring and alerting tools
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Experience with C++ is a plus
Experience with workload manager software (Nomad, Slurm, etc.) is a plus
Experience with cloud technology is a plus (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
Experience with OpenStack is a plus
Fluent in English

Familiarity with Exasol or other analytics databases
Experience with OpenStack or workload managers (Nomad, Slurm)

You collaborate with development, QA, and IT teams to improve automation, optimize system performance, and resolve infrastructure issues. As a team lead, you mentor DevOps engineers, guide technical decisions, and work on improving scalable and reliable infrastructure that supports development teams.
